While he stays away from the guest rooms, he can be seen around the shared areas and therefore the house may not be suitable for those with cat allergies. Kuaotunu is one of the hidden gems of the Coromandel and is a great place for beach and bush walks, fishing, kayaking, and enjoying the beautiful beaches in the area. The village store, and Luke's Kitchen, an excellent café and restaurant for casual eating, are a short walk away. The town of Whitianga is just a 20 minute drive away and has a number of lovely restaurants, supermarkets, and access to many activities such as boat trips, the Lost Spring thermal pools and spa, or perhaps some horse riding. Two golf courses are nearby, and there is a tennis court just across the playing field from Taigh na Mara. Of course if you just want some time to relax, then this is definitely the spot for you.
