Waihi Beach Lodge is a Boutique Bed and Breakfast Lodge two hours south east of Auckland or 1 1/2 hours from Auckland International airport. Turn off SH2 just past Waihi.
The real benefit of Waihi Beach is its central location as it provides you with the flexibility to see the Coromandel, Hobbiton , Waitomo and Rotorua from one base as well as being able to spend time in the Karangahake Gorge, view the gold mining history of Waihi and of course, a stroll or swim at the beach is a must.
Relax and experience the many sea views available from the Lodge or enjoy a glass of wine on the deck.Less than 2 min stroll away from 9k's of white sandy beach and one of the safest surf beaches in New Zealand.
We have 3 king /queen size rooms and 1 king studio apartment. The 3 king/queen size rooms all have their own ensuites,fridges,TV's, DVD's, tea & coffee making facilities, bathrobes, beach towels, slippers plus chairs & tables. The king studio apartment has a fridge freezer, kitchenette, laundry, TV, DVD, bathrobes, beach towels, slippers plus chairs & tables.All rooms have fresh fruit, flowers and chocolates on arrival.All rooms have seaviews with the apartments seaview being from its deck

Activities in our area include walks in the stunning Karangahake gorge, visiting the Matha gold mine, walks on Waihi Beach, taking a train ride to Waikino station, visiting Bullswool farm to see exotic farm animals, swimming with the dolphins in Tauranga, kayaking at night to gloworm caves at Waimarino.
If you are a fan of the Hobbit or Lord of the Rings then a day trip to Hobbiton is a must. Tours leave very frequently from Matamata and a guests come back having had a totally enjoyable experience.
If fishing is your thing then both fresh water and salt water fishing are available.Fresh water fishing is found in the Ohinemuri river with both licenses and fishing guides available locally.
For salt water fishing there is deep sea fishing available from Tauranga as well as harbour fishing. If you would like to try torpedo fishing ask Greg & Ali about a night time fish & see what they can arrange.
Day trips up the Coromandel are also easily done to make a good day out taking in iconic attractions like Hot Water Beach, Cathedral Cove, Whitianga and Driving creek railway and the Waiau water works. Day trips to Hobbiton, Rotorua & Waitomo are also possible as they are within 2 hours drive
