Our luxury self-contained Riverside Cottage is the most spacious accommodation available at Te Awa Lodge, and an ideal place to stay for extended visits to the Bay of Islands. You will instantly notice the warmth and natural light, and the stunning river views that can be seen from the bedroom and the open plan lounge and dining areas. Ranch sliders off the lounge and the bedroom lead onto your own private covered deck. There is a fully fitted kitchen in the Riverside Cottage with a two-plate electric hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge/freezer as well as a quality washing machine. The cottage offers versatile sleeping arrangements. The King-sized bed can be split into twin beds as required, and one of the sofas in the lounge can convert into a double bed to accommodate two extra guests. The bedroom is spacious with a built-in wardrobe with plenty of shelving and hanging space for your clothing. The ensuite bathroom, which can be accessed from either the bedroom or the dining room, features a large double shower, basin and vanity unit, heated towel rail and ceiling heater.

A stunning panoramic vista awaits you at the Riverside Suite, a self-contained luxury unit which has uninterrupted views up and down the Waitangi River. This is Te Awa at its best. Catering exclusively to adult guests, you will find peace and a welcome sense of wellbeing while staying in this lovely suite at our special Bay of Islands Bed and Breakfast. Couples love the indoor-outdoor flow of this peaceful retreat. It is the perfect setting for a long, lazy morning. Ranch sliders open off the bedroom onto a private deck which extends the uninterrupted views along the beautiful Waitangi River. There are large, mirrored wardrobes with ample hanging space in the suite as well as a kitchenette complete with microwave, fridge, kettle, and toaster that has its own special view.

Luxuriously appointed with sweeping views of the Waitangi River, the Riverside Studio brings out all the charm that Te Awa Lodge exudes. Our Riverside Studio unit adjoins the Riverside Cottage and has its own private entrance. A ramp for wheelchair access is available if you require, as it is important to us to cater for the needs of every guest. This large, elegantly appointed studio room features a fully fitted kitchenette with fridge, microwave, 2 plate electric hob and plenty of storage space. The lounge/dining area boasts its own river views and generous ranch sliders open out onto your own covered deck. The ensuite bathroom has an accessible walk-in shower and is laid out with every consideration in mind. The comfortable king-sized bed can convert into twin beds as required.

This suite affords a delightful spot to enjoy uninterrupted views of the Waitangi River. With its own private balcony overlooking the beautiful grounds, it is likely you will hear the distinctive call of the Tui each morning. The Tui is a native New Zealand bird – once called the ‘Parsons bird’ for its white collar. We love it so much that it features in our logo, and we have named this light and airy suite in its honour. The Tui Room is located in a quiet and secluded corner of the main lodge and is furnished with a Queen-sized bed. The spacious ensuite bathroom has a shower-over-bath and extra-large vanity unit.
