The Mahoe Cottage is the perfect place for a romantic getaway. Smaller than Kowhai Cottage, it is secluded and peaceful, has an outdoor bath, and a cosy warmth all year round. Upstairs the French doors lead out onto a spacious balcony. It has a table and chairs, is surrounded by jasmine and roses, the ideal spot for breakfast or a sundowner. The queen-sized bed and bedside tables are made from Macrocarpa milled at Lavendyl and handcrafted by the original owner. The stairs and railings are also made from the Macrocarpa, adding to the rustic feel of the space. Downstairs the lounge is light and airy with a cosy sofa bed and a dining table with seating for four. The kitchenette is small and basic but more than adequate to make breakfast and simple meals. The bathroom contains a shower with good water pressure. The French doors lead to the garden, where there is a deep outside bath and rainfall shower. Completed by a bench and table, it is ideal for couples, but, guests have said, it provides the best bathtime ever for parents and young children.

The Kowhai Cottage is the perfect place for families. It is dog-friendly and a little bigger than the Mahoe Cottage. Contact us about pets before booking to ensure you are happy with our pet policy. There is a table with seating for four which can accommodate an extra chair when needed. The kitchenette area is small and basic but more than adequate to make breakfast and simple meals. The bathroom is large with a spa bath and separate shower. The French doors lead to the covered patio and private grassed area. There is a barbecue and a lemon tree close by; help yourself to fresh lemons.
